About JFilm

JFilm's signature event is a 3-week festival which was started in 1994. In addition to showing the most current and thought provoking films, JFilm Festival hosts filmmakers from around the world to speak with audiences as well as lead workshops at local universities.

Other JFilm programs include Teen Screen, where school groups come for free during the day to see a Holocaust or other curriculum-linked film. Teachers are provided with a study-guide to help prepare their students for the film viewing or can welcome a JFilm educator to their classroom for a "Quick Lesson" to prepare students for the film viewing.

Reel to Real: Generation to Generation brings teens and senior adults together at senior living facilities to watch and discuss films.

The Red String Film Series (formerly the Jewcy Film Series) offers films and networking events for the 21 - 35 crowd at unique locations throughout the city.

JFilm, a program of the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh, raises its entire budget through state and foundation grants, corporate sponsors and individual contributions.See More
